Common questions

What is uvx?

uvx is a tool runner from the uv ecosystem. It runs Python packages without requiring a manual install — similar to npx for Node. If you don't have uv, install it with: curl -LsSf https://astral.sh/uv/install.sh | sh

Where do I find my KOLENS_API_URL?

This is the Railway deployment URL for the KOLens backend API. It looks like https://your-project.up.railway.app. If you're using the hosted KOLens service, this will be provided in your dashboard settings.

How are credits consumed?

kol-search is free for small result sets. kol-research (up to 200 creators with email extraction and Excel export) costs 1 credit per run. Credits never expire.

Does this work with self-hosted OpenClaw?

Yes. The openclaw mcp set command works on any OpenClaw installation — cloud, self-hosted, or CLI. The MCP server runs as a local process (uvx kolens-mcp) and calls the KOLens API over HTTPS.
